FAMOUS!!!

YEAH! Our little girl was published in our local "Our Kids" magazine. I submitted her photo a few weeks ago, and our neighbor's brought over the magazine. I was unaware that
it was published, but Lilah just loved seeing herself in the magazine!

Yep, that is the famous Lilah and puppy picture that was published! Such a cute girl!!!

Yard work...

Wow what a turn around! When we first started renting this house, I initially asked our management company if I could rip out these bushes because they were such an eye sore! We recently discovered why! The people who had this place before us did not seem to have a green thumb in their body at all! So, here is the before and after wards of our work and effort!

Here is the before, notice the HUGE eye sore of weeds and over-growth!

After about 2 trash bins full of over-growth, and pulling, this is partially done! This is almost done, not mulched yet, but getting better!
Here is hubby doing his duty, mulching!

The flower's Lilah and I, or more so she watched and threw dirt, and mommy planted!
My new pride and joy of my mini garden! This is the small bush on the far left of the first picture, notice how it blends into the rest of the shrubbery and over-growth.

Now it's full of green and looking beautiful and ready to thrive!

Planting...

As a belated Earth Day celebration, Lilah and I planted some flowers and mini trees today! (Last week Trent and I were given a tree growing kit from our Body Flow class that we take at the gym. ) She also let us take one for Lilah, and we decided to pot them today since it was so rainy outside today!

First, mommy has to set everything out!

Then Lilah gets to add the water...
This is what happens when water is added to condensed and dry soil!
Next we mix the water and soil together, and put the mixed soil into the little pots.

Now we have a potted plant! Just have to set it by the window and watch it grow!!!
This project was so fun and inexpensive! I believe she got them at Target for about a dollar a piece! And all it takes it some water and a little bit of time!  We're definately are going to have to do this again!

Easter and News

This year for Easter, we didn't do much. We went to church in the morning, and spent the day like a normal Sunday. We did give Lilah her Easter basket, but I didn't catch any pictures of it.

The reason being, is we are still in potty training mode, and have decided to let her sans the training pants while at home. Yes, we have an almost nakey girl running around the house during the day! This makes things easier on all of us. We don't have to follow her to the potty to help pull her pants and undies down, and she doesn't have to wait and struggle with pulling her pants down herself.

She is trying to learn to put them on by herself, and majority if not all the time, she can get them on and off. But have yet to fully master it all completely. With more time, she will completely figure everything out, and with some help. She's still very independent and like to do things for herself, so we let her try.

Oh, and she doesn't like to take a good smile picture for mommy! So these are the best that I was able to get!!!
Trying to walk away from mom while I snap the photos.
Doing a little twist both ways to be cute!
I am not sure what this is suppose to be!
Lilah also had a dentist appointment yesterday, and the dentist said that he teeth, so far, look good. She has another 4 teeth that need and should erupt before she is 3 years old. I do hope these cut like her other ones, in her sleep and without us noticing!!! She was a great teether, and we had no issues at all.  One concern the dentist did have is because her teeth are so close now, that when her adult teeth start to come in, they will be crowded also. As I have found out with other achon children, she will have some crowding, and we will have to deal with that, when the issue comes. For now, she has a healthy and bright smile! :)

On another note, Trent officially has a class date now. He will leave again in December, this year, for about 4 months. Fortunately this year, he will be able to come home for Christmas, but that will be out of pocket for us. It is worth the money though to have him home this year! If all goes well while he is in tech school, he will graduate on our anniversary next year! So, an anniversary trip to Florida this year! YEAH ME!!!

1st Egg Hunt

Lilah had her first egg hunt this year. Considering last year, we went to a friends house and they hide eggs just for her! So not much of a fair chance there! We went to play group today, brought some cookies and filled up some eggs for the kids to  hunt. They started the hunt, and Lilah 'found' one egg. She saw alot more, but didn't put them in her basket!

The only reason she has about 4 eggs is because 2 girls put them in her basket! lol
Look mom, animal crackers!
I think I am going to venture off on my own today mom. Is that ok?
Lilah and her friend Graeleigh. She has never ventured further than five steps away from me at a time, and today, she decided to be bold! This is over 50 feet away from me today! As you can see by my long distance photo! I'm proud of my little one!
She also decided she wanted to climb climb climb today! Made it all the way to the slide, and went down it all by herself without falling back! Physical Therapy has really been helping us out!
Hope you guys enjoy your Easter weekend. I'll be sure to have LOTS of photos to post after the weekend!

Strawberry Festival

This past weekend, we went to the Annual Strawberry Festival in Poteet, TX. It was only suppose to be 81 degrees in San Antonio, but we didn't check the weather for Poteet! It was a 96 degrees in Poteet! Should've check the weather and gone later in the day! We didn't start the day off well because as soon as we get there, Lilah needs to go potty... since this is a festival, port-a-potties is all we have! But, I do have one of those fold up potty seats, which she still refused to sit on! I don't blame her! I know think I need to invest in my own port-a-potty  that will fit in our trunk and she can use wherever, when ever!

The next great thing to our day was when we found out the back tire on the stroller went flat somehow. Either sitting in the garage for a day in hot weather or closing it in the trunk door. Either way, we needed to fill it cause we were not about to carry Lilah all day, or walk at a snails pace either! We find a gas station, with an air pump. (Oh, I should tell you that this town has about 2 gas stations within a mile radius, because that is how big the town is. And the festival is the highlight and income of the year for the town.) Well, we find the pump, put in our 25cents and then the guy tells us that it doesn't even work! Grrr!!!!

Next solution? Fix-a-flat! We luckily found that at the Dollar General, but it had to be a bad day for us because the can we got, the end piece broke as soon as Trent tried to pull it off the tire valve! Joy! Fix-a-flat got all over his hands and spilled on the cement! Oh well, the tire was working long enough to get us through the day!
After all that, we finally make it inside the festival grounds! It only took about 30 minutes from the time we got there, but we made it. We start to walk around, notice the food and then we both look up and see a Toyota Truck stand! We are avid toyota fans, besides the great gas milage they offer, they are uber comfy and we love the size and style of them. This year, they had a course set up to 'test' drive their Toyota Tundra's through a mock off road course. We both jumped at this opportunity!
I was able to go first this time! The drivers take you through the first part of the course because they have to drive through 3 ditches about 2 feet down. Then we get to switch places! Oh yeah!

Yep, still me going through the course, taking the truck all the way to the top half of the inside of that hill thing. Wow, I had so much fun driving that thing! It was HUGE for me, but so roomy and comfy! We are planning on buying a new vehicle within the next year or so, and want to get a Toyota Tacoma. They didn't have any out to test drive, so we went ahead and drove the Tundra to get a better feel for the trucks.
Now it was Trent's turn to go into the deep thick sand. A lot of the cars got stuck in it, and had to use the 4 wheel drive to get out of it... but not Trent and I! We both really enjoyed driving!

Here's Lilah in her cool sunglasses and new hat. I know the outfit doesn't match that well, but trying to find a cute hat to go over that head is almost impossible! And one that allows for ventilation cause boy does she heat up quick! Oh, and that is the Poteet Strawberry Cow... to hot to sit on!
And the only game that Lilah could play while we were there. $5 to pick up 3 ducks and get 3 bubble bottles. Oh well, she had fun and wouldn't leave the dirty murky ducky pool alone! Eventually we pulled her away with the lure of bubbles! She loves bubbles so much!

On another note, Trent got word that he is going to be able to cross train into his new career field. I don't remember if I have posted on this already or not, but will update now. He does have word that he will be able to cross-Train into TACP. Which stands for Tactical Air Control Party. With this new job, he will unfortunately be home less, because the deployments do last longer. But, on the good side, he will be sooooo much happier in this new career field. He has been training on his own for a long while now, and is ready to do this new job. Let's hope for the best and a great graduation once he does go to training!

This past Friday, Lilah and I were asked over for a cookie making bash!!! We'll, more like a playdate for the kids to eat cookies and frosting, seperately mind you!

Here is Lilah being a good girl, waiting patiently to cut out her cookies!

And our buddy Connor, debating on eating the frosting or the cookie, decisions, decisions!

Once the cookies were done, it was decorating time! Lilah decided to be a ham for the camera! Fortunately for me, she wanted nothing to do with the sugary frosting! Lilah was all about the cookies, with no frosting! And our friend Tatum, doing a beautiful job decorating her butterfly purple!

Also with us was Beth and her pretty little girl Sydney! They all had fun decorating their cookies and eating them after lunch time! We had a great time and are looking forward to the next playdate guys!!!
